The HTML e-mails from the Graduate School contain formatted text, one or two images and links to our Web site. The plain text version contains text and links only. There are no images, and the text is unformatted. A link to a Web version of the e-mail will appear at the top of both plain text and HTML e-mails from the Graduate School.

Not all e-mail programs can display HTML e-mails properly, but you can choose based on which program you primarily use.

HTML works well with the following programs:
  • Apple Mail (Mac)
  • Microsoft Entourage (Mac)
  • Microsoft Outlook (Mac and Windows)
  • Microsoft Outlook Express (Mac and Windows)
  • Hotmail (especially if you've enabled images) (Mac and Windows)
  • Netscape (Mac and Windows)
These programs read e-mails better in plain text:
  • AOL (Mac & Windows)
  • Lotus Notes (Mac & Windows)
  • Qualcom Eudora (Mac & Windows)
